This update includes a lot of important information. We ask that you bear with us as it is longer than our usual updates. We covet your prayers for each of the topics addressed.
Florida Trip Update
We saw God's hand in so many ways: the fact that we already had a trip planned to Orlando (just 40 min. from Lakeland), generosity of supporters to help cover the added expense of changing tickets, and that we were able to spend several days with Bruce's family and still attend the ABWE Regional Conference. We had built in a few days onto the end of our trip to spend time with Peter who was on Fall Break, and that allowed us to help with and attend Maria's memorial service as well. Thank you all for your prayers and kind words during a difficult time.
Meanwhile, back in Nica...Tropical Storm Nate
Much worse than any of that, our church planters in low lying areas have lost much. One of our church planters had 16 bee hives wash away and was searching for them downriver. Many have lost furniture, roofs, and food supplies. This, and many other stories like it, is a huge blow to so many churches and families in low lying areas. So far, in partnership with the 3 associations of churches we work with, we have distributed over $1500 of aid. This has been a great help, but there is still so much need.

Building Team from Bermuda
Since Emma will be graduating from high school in June 2018, we will have the opportunity to take a furlough beginning mid June. We are hopeful to only need to take 6 months, but this depends much on our support level since we will be required to be back up to 100% before being cleared to return to the field.
During that time, we will get Emma settled into college (location TBA) and begin visiting many of you in our supporting churches. We also anticipate hosting events for our individual supporters in order to connect personally with as many of you as possible.
Please pray for the preparation that is involved. We will be active in regular ministry until just a few weeks before our departure. We are thankful to already have housing and a vehicle waiting for us!
Please begin praying that the Lord would provide for our full support quickly.
Thank you for sticking with us through this update! We appreciate your prayers and support so much!
